 Dr. Erastus Mak-Mensah is a soil scientist, researcher, and educator with expertise in sustainable agriculture, soil health, water resource management, and environmental restoration. He holds a PhD in Forage Science from Gansu Agricultural University, China, and has established an international research profile in evidence synthesis, meta-analysis, and climate-smart agricultural systems. Dr. Mak-Mensah has authored more than 35 peer-reviewed publications in leading international journals and has collaborated with researchers across Africa, Asia, and Europe. His research focuses on biochar and activated carbon technologies, soil and water conservation, land restoration, climate change adaptation, and sustainable agricultural production.

Beyond research, he is committed to building scientific capacity by mentoring students and early-career researchers, facilitating workshops on systematic reviews and meta-analysis, and supporting multidisciplinary research collaborations. He also serves as the Production and Research Lead and Marketing Strategist at Velho Carbons Ltd., where he leads innovations in activated carbon solutions for water purification and environmental sustainability. Through his work, Dr. Mak-Mensah is dedicated to advancing science-based solutions that improve agricultural productivity, protect natural resources, and promote sustainable development.
