Dr. Courage Komla Besah-Adanu (PhD) is the Lead Consultant of the West Africa Centre for Agribusiness and Apiculture Development (WACAAD). He is an Entomologist, intellectual property and agribusiness development professional with expertise in Pollination Ecology, Beekeeping and Honey Production, Geographical Indications, Plant Variety Protection, trademarks, certification marks, branding, producer governance, and value-chain development.
He currently serves as Head of the Geographical Indications and Plant Variety Protection Units at the Ghana Industrial Property Office of the Registrar-General’s Department, and has supported national and regional work on the protection and commercialisation of origin-linked products, including Kente, honey, shea butter, and other African products with strong cultural and market value.
At WACAAD, he provides strategic and technical leadership on agribusiness development, apiculture, biodiversity-linked enterprise, quality systems, traceability, certification, and market access.
